building 383 need help

Default building 383 need help

My friend has a 4 bolt main lt1 vet block, with ported and polished Vet heads and the LT4 hot cam. He is getting ready to rip it apart and build it into a 383 stroker. He is curious as to weather the LT4 package heads/inake is worth money and a good setup to go with? This car will see the track but he mainly wants it out to dominate on the street. And if not the LT4 package then what other packages do you guys recommend?

LE setups are highly desireable and put out proven #'s, when I had my 383, with hot cam and Ported LT1 castings, stock valves and hotcam with a auto, 2000 stall, 3700-3800 race weight on 245/50-16's with no suspension I belted out 12.086 @ 113

Here is a vid of one of my best runs, smashing a 02 viper GTS.

My set up was missed matched and I put out some decent times, mind you i had a 10 bolt and 3.23 gears.

Oh and if the heads havent been fucked with he will port them out, so you save some $$, if the heads have been worked over, he charges the same. I had inquired when I had already cnc ported heads but wanted bigger valves. So it wasnt economical to make the big chng

Correction a LS1 isnt enough to dominate the streets lol. We got some faaaaast street drive cars. a good h/c set up with a shot of n20 will def beat alot of stuff out there.

he got better, 12.4 by the end of the in his defense, he was messing with his palm pilot before the run lol.
