valve spring question How do you test what lift a valve spring is good to. I got some aftermarket springs and dont know what lift they are good too

find out your installed height for the given spring.then bring it to coil bind height measure that - .080 to .100 then subtract your # from the installed height that will give you a safe place to start.i say .080 to .100 cause spring manufacturers very in what they consider safe clearance.
