how much for rear gear install

i was wondering what is the average price for rear gear install i got a price today for 300-320 that seems a lil high to me what have u guys got them for?

$500-600 including parts/bearings/etc.

The installation price should be around 250-300. No parts included, you supply everything, including gasket and lube.

That's pretty good actually. You're not going to find much lower. It's a fairly involved job.

3-4 hours labor at the standard shop rate for a private shop. ($200-320)
I think the flat-rate shops charge for 6 hours.

Buy your own (good quality) parts either way, you don't want to pay their markups.
Test drive it (Forward and Reverse) before you pay the bill and make sure it doesn't whine.

I think the dealership quoted me $1000 when I was doing my '95 (including parts)
I decided to take my chances elsewhere.
The '93 had them in when I bought it.
