Wont run long...
Wont run long... OK well for the last few weeks my car hasnt run quite right...hard startups poor throttle response but it would usually do fine once it wamed up. Now in the last 5 days it is not drivable; it will start up fine but will die if I dont give it gas usually about 20-30 secs in....it idles realitively fine, no misses, and then just takes a complete nose dive. I just happened to have run out of gas a few weeks ago and I first suspected the fuel pump had gone south. Well I replaced that today with the fuel filter which of course was a pain... and once again it died at about 20-30 secs into it. I then decided to disconect the O2's thinking that maybe they were at fault b/c of the lag time between startup and it dieing and that didnt do anything. Last week before it got so bad that I couldn't drive it I took it to get it scanned for codes and everything was normal. I am so fed up with this car and I'm starting to hate fuel injection....what do you guys think.
Ok well I just swapped in 37lb injectors over the stock ones and it runs...it runs rich but doesnt die. I had the pcm programmed for 37lb ones when I built my motor however they ran way too rich and fouled out the plugs so I threw in the stock 24lb ones and it ran good for a few weeks.
