You guess, you need to check them.

Thats what it sounds like, alluminum heads dont just lose threading.

Why not just check and save yourself the hassle of later having a problem?

Half assing doesnt make anything any better.

Take a small mirror and put it back there and look and see if the threads are gone. And you can easily check the bolt.

Tony.

Um, hate to tell you but check the casting numbers a 93 Vette should have the same exact heads as a 95 f-body.

Good news there is if you follow Tony's advise and find stripped threads all you need to do is use one of the original heads.

You know they are reversible? Maybe you can get one original head repaired and put the repaired end too the front, take the plug out and use the unmolested hole. First though go get a manual with torque specs and and a torque wernch and familiarize yourself with the operation of it. Seeing as you have 3 stripped holes this can only be operator error.

Hope you did not pay too much for those special Vette heads.

He means you didn't have to buy the Vette heads in the first place: the coolant crossover port is drilled in both ends of each head, so you could've just used your original heads rotated 180 degrees with the good crossover ports that were originally at the front now at the back. That's what he means by "reversible."

Well, i understand this and allready know that, i had the vette heads just laying around, i blew a head gasket and that is the reason for the swap, i ported them since i was going to have to fix it anyways, theese bastards ar junk....i feel like i been ripped off by GM for the first time....i understand why the GEN II lived so shortly.

Maybe you can chase the threads and use standard fittings. When I did my head swap I just headed to home depot and got some 1/4 in fittings and redid the whole crossover tube assembly with that and some high temp hose. I used that liquid paste thread sealant stuff that lasts with much higher pressure and temperature then teflon tape, and it has never once leaked.

Was just a few bucks, compared to what they wanted for the bolts/tubing.

"GUUUUUMP!!! YOU ARE A GOT DAMN GENIOUS!!!"

Man, i might have to try somthing to this nature, it saddens me deeply if i gotta pull the head back off, I used hose to connect the heads due to the old line being bent, so i guess u could pull one side off and just do somthing like that on the driver side....but damn man, 22$ ofr another set of frickin head bolt and prolly another 20$ for another head gasket....and another intake gasket....man thes car will be the end of me...
