Default Driving with a bad cat?

Today i discovered that my passenger side secondary cat went bad, its rattling and its very annoying...anyways i dont have money to do anything about it for about a week so is it still ok to drive it?? I notice that little pieces of the broken up cat are coming out of my exhaust...

I drove around with a bad cat on my v6 firebird for a long time. I dont know if it causes any problems...but I never noticed anything. Of course peices of mine werent coming out of the exhaust. I suggest getting a hi flow cat rather than gutting it tho.

i drove mine for a month like that. it annoyed the hell out of me. then i took a hacksaw to both of them and welded in straight pipes. worst $150 ive spent on my car yet, the stupid things lasted less than 2 months.

and if ur cat lasted a few months... its either defective, or you ran too rich and fried the poor thing!
