Header Installation... Need Some Advice...

Thanks man. So I'm guessing I should definately take out my oil dipstick tube? Everyone here has just about said the damn thing is in the way and it would be best to take it out, so I guess that **** is coming out when I decide to install my headers.

Also, Does anyone here have pics. of their header install? This would make it much more easier, so I can get an example of what all needs to be removed and what not.

the tube has to come out and might want to take off the steering shaft coupler also.

Thanks man. The steering shaft coupler is that thing on the driver side of the engine right? I'm sure my Dad will know what it is. I talked to him today and he isn't that happy about helping me install my long tubes. I can't seem to figure out why, lol.

Haha. Yeah I talked to him and told he we were in for a hell of a weekend and he told me "what do you mean by we". Haha, I also told him this was going to help us improve our vocabulary and that there was going to be some dents in the walls around the shop where we threw tools at.

So I got my long tubes in today so I'm ready to install everything now, just waiting for a good weekend when nothing will pop up. I was going to ask if I should use the o2 sensor extension things that came with the headers. I don't know if it matters or not, but when I got my car tuned I had the rear o2 sensors turned off along with the air injection and egr... whatever those two things are.

I put SLP headers on my car and it was a pain in the ***....good luck.

PB blaster all the way, lifesaver, my friend broke 2 bolts off and so i sprayed More pb blaster on em ,left them go, and came off fine

Smile header install

Everybody is right you do have to remove the dipstick tube,but you also have to remove the universal from the steering rack to the steering column. I just did a set of edlebrock header on my other fbody 94 formula. Its not as bad as it looks.
Don't get me wrong you will say a few curse words but its not that bad. Its took me 3.5 hours to do start to finish. If you you pull the valve covers it give you just enough room on the drivers side to snake it in there. The passenger side has to go in from the bottom and that is the worst side to do. Its definetly worth the abuse for the gain you get over the worlds worst exhaust manifold in the history of GM. Good luck Hope everything work out ok. Make sure you post how the true duels work! I thought about doing it to my 94. I am currently running 4inch. and it works but my car is lowered so it scrapes over speed bumps. If you need help let me know would be glad to help.

You dont have to do anything with the steering rack with the Kooks.
