Heads and cam welllll...im not gonna b driving for awhile so i decieded that im gonna do heads and cam...i was thinking about porting the heads and intake myself and just upgrading the springs and rr's..for the cam i wana to go with a cc305/6..along with a lt4 timing chain set...would porting the heads and the cam give me a big hp upgrade? or would i b better off just dong a le1...im kind of on a low budget too..what do you guys think..

Well, unless you have porting experience i would say buy a ported package, if you dont know what you are doing you can hurt performance. You need a understanding of what porting does in different places(short side, long side, bowl...ect.) and what it effects. I have been doing it for almost 10 years so i can tell you it took a bit of R&D. So good luck with your decision. Yes you will gain significant gains.
Save your money on the timing set and just use a new stock set. I am aware of more LT4 ED sets breaking than stock sets.
Don't be afraid to keep the cam mild, IMO the 306 would be a downright mistake, the 305 would be the better choice but I would instead encourage you too look at the GMPP 846 it is 222 on the intake, don't know the rest of the specs off the top of my head but it is a good cam that makes nice power in a usable range. It should be used a whole lot more often than it is.
