Default ported manifold/TB

Is a 52/58mm worth the hp gain?
going to be on a mid sized cam car with the basic bolt ons

can anyone reccomend a porter to do the manifold?

Ah, the can of worms opens again.
I noticed a difference on my car when I put a ported (52mm) stock tb on my car. The manifold is already 52mm, so I did not have to port it, it matched already. If you go 58mm, you will have to have the manifold ported to 58mm also. I don't know of anyone porting, but I am sure other members do know.
Best of luck.

Yo Scott, I was told by Harris that a bigger TB wouldnt be worth doing and may even hurt me. So I personally wouldnt bother it doesnt seem to be real worth it unless you have heads, however I dont see how a ported stocker 52mm on ebay wouldnt hurt, but not sure how much hp it will gain on a cam only car.

I would do it just for the better throttle response.

When I did the 58 on my TPI (with ported plenum to match) I noticed a diff as well, and that was the only thing done.

I say go for the 52mm and don't listen to anyone else. You won't regret it, I can guarantee you that.

I had my manifold matched to a 52mm and as mentioned above the throttle response is worth it IMO.

This is one of my favorite subjects, tied with the "Do I need SFCs or not".
The two camps "Hell yes" and "No F'in way" are fairly even in numbers.
But this one is a bit more fun, since no one says "my performance went way down, it handled terrible, etc. like the "No F'in way" folks in the SFC debate.
Just an observation, carry on. YMMV.

You can still get LT1 intakes ported here's my old intake that I bored out to fit 58mms (I had to slot the intake bolts to get it to fit and did not like that)

So here's my ported and machined intake. It looks better in real life.

Best thing is no more slotted bolts the geometry/intake ports now line up perfectly
