Default best CAM

im wanting to put in a big cam...

that being said...

im not wanting to take the heads off so no porting or anything... just new valve springs, push rods, rockers, lifters, and a cam..

in your oppinion whats the best setup... i want to get the max i can out of it without upgrading anything else... its a 95 lt1 m6 ...has magnaflow catback... no headers yet... will probably put on some lt afterwards...

i know i should do the timing chain and probably the waterpump while im in there...

any suggestions would be helpful...

thanks
Tyler

Do the headers first.
Don't waste money replacing good stock lifters.
Go smaller than the majority of responses will tell you too.
Consider something mild like the LPE 211/219 or the Crane 210/224, they really do work well.

yea i agree do the headers first, and maybe gears and also a stall if your auto. I have heard really good things about the cams mentioned above. i read the lt1 does real well with a little shorter duration and more lift. that is what i read, not from personal experience. I have also read not to go any bigger than a CC503 on stock heads. remeber bigger is not always better, get something that fits your needs and what you want the car to be used for.

keep your future plans in mind when your picking the cam. you dont just want to spec it out for your current setup if you will be changing somthign in the near future.

think about the total package instead of just the cam..I chose a small cam (218/218) that would work good with my package and I couldnt be happier...everything has to work good together..not one thinking working awesome and everything else being ****
