A 3300 lb Camaro with glass windows should be the same as a 3300lb Camaro with lexan. I'm thinking a lot of guys are going to have to add weight to their cars anyways, there's quite a few sub 3000lb cars out there.
Also, if you don't make the "cut" for any of the qualifying classes, do you automatically get bounced to the bracketclasses or what?
This is intended to be more of a 'street car' race. 'Street cars' don't have lexan. Also, there really aren't that many sub 3200# raceweight cars out there that are LT1 powered.

We changed the rules today for Lexan back glass to be allowed in Outlaw.

I can totally see your point 'IF" there was no weight limit imposed on the cars. I mean if you didn't have a weight limit, then the cars would need the lexan to be competitive, which is a turn-off to some, because of the added expense. My car is a street car, it will be getting lexan front/rear by spring. It's only a fair weather cruiser so it's no big deal to me. I'm pretty sure that a vast majority of the "street cars" at this shootout will be trailered there, don't you think?

Do we still have to have windsheild wipers in the 6 speed class?

Many totaly dis-agree with your opion on this I wieghed my car almost completely gutted with out even a dash and it was 3200Lbs(With out my 220Lbs in it) As it is many of us will not be even close to the Wieght limits but they are there as are the Lexan rules for a reason.

A Lexan Windshield is a big NO in many street classes. Not to mention just a bad choice for a street car for many reasons.

Then again this is just MY Opinion

Amber we are so glad to have you guys as a sponsor of the event! We are allowing sponsors to bring their non-LT1 powered cars for exhibition runs if you wish.

There is a big difference between "street car" and "car that can be driven almost 1900 miles down the highway to KC and then run low 9's high 8's.."

Hence the reason most will be on trailers... I take mine to the store and to car shows..... not on 1900 mile road trips.. Not to mention i'd be deaf as **** once I got to KC. You'd have to go over the rules when I get there with a megaphone in my ear...

Just some recent news. Victory Racing Engines has backed out of sponsorship so we need to find another sponsor to take their place. If you know of a company that might be interested let me know.

Thanks

Also thanks to all those who have registered so far.

Additionally, going 1900 miles to drag race without a trailer would be high-risk, as you can always "break bad" during an event. And then you would be up S---creek for sure.

I have nothing but a street car at 3750 pounds of race weight. I'll be trailering in from Denver. You never know when you'll be breaking something. Even a headgasket on my stock short-block would wreak havoc with me. I don't want to be stranded 9-hours from home. Even though I am slow, I will be trailering the car in.

This sounds like a fun event. I may take some leave and come out and make a mini vacation out of it. That being said, my car weighs in around 3080#s. The only weight reduction I have is headers/no cats and spare tire delete. My car was 3150ish stock as delivered from GM as it was a low low optioned car. Will I have to add weight also if I choose to run?

[I'm pretty sure I know the answer allready but had to ask anyways ]

That'd be awesome. I'll be trailering and my buddy with his LT1 1969 GTO will be driving. He is much more brave than I, but then again he isn't running N2O!

if there was some additional incentive, i would be willing to drive mine down but where do you store everything then? throw the stock exhaust on with the stock wheels and have at it.
