Recently my headers burnt the number 6 wire in half. The engine light came on as expected. I rerouted the wire using heat resistant tubing and the bird runs great. At the same time I also filled up with 101 unleaded. I have not scanned it yet. I did disconnect the battery for 20 minutes and the light came right back on. What I am worried about is that the dealer gave me some leaded fuel out of one of his 55 gallon drum. Should the check engine light clear after fixing the # 6 wire and disconnecting the battery?

um. why the hell do you have 101 unleaded? you probably have a rich as hell code

 

If you have leaded fuel, there is a possibility your O2's are toast.
