Default Cruising and Idle Question

Lately, as the weather starts to get colder, my car seems to shutter a little bit around 60-70 on the highway...Above and below those speeds, it is fine. After the car warms up, it does that for a few more minutes, and then eventually goes away. Also, out of nowhere, when I start my car up, I hear kind of a tinny rattle/grinding while it is sitting there, I notice while i drive(when I have the music off) it does that for a mile or two and then just disappears...Any clue on what either of these could be?

please help, the sound has gotten even worse, and now its constant, sounds like a grinding from the trans or driveshaft...in neutral, no sound, in drive or reverse, its a tinny rattle and grind coming from the middle of the car...

u joints arn't worth having a mechanic do. 15-30$ (not exact but not expensive at all) and easy to do. from ur description i dont think its u-joints though

i listened to it shift into each gear, and it seems to be shifting as normal, so I can't quite figure it out...sitting in park, when i rev the car it the rattle gets louder, so could it be something with the driveshaft?

this sound is annoying, is it safe to drive? I only need to go about 10 miles round trip tomorrow until I get someone to look at it after work...

If you are sitting in park its not the driveshaft...possibly something in the catalytic converter?

Sounds like a heat shield now you mention it does it in park. Check the heatshields under car, the one above or on the cat. converter is probably making the rattiling noise.

The heatshield is just a flimsy thin piece of metal. I took mine out the first week I had my car, don't remember if it's bolted or what, sorry. Just remove it however you can.
