Lost to my Nephew. ?

Hi all Well I don't know if I should have won even though Ihave the 2.73 gears but he has a 1999 stock T A w/ jet chip 6 speed none WS6 so we did a 5mph roll he didn't hook up to good but it started out even then he started to pull on me alittle to where hi tail pipes were at my side then he shifted then he got a car lenght ahead and it didn't look like I was catching up but we ran out of room and let off.

I know I have the 2.73 rear gears but I would have hope to keep even aleast
I know when I had my 3.42 gears my car felt alot faster alot but.

he running 2.73 to but 6 speed

right now I feel like going to 3.73 and see what that will help.

If you have all that done and he beat you sell it.

My TA is an auto 94 open header 3.73 Built Tranny w/shift kit K&N and some other mild bolt ons but it will keep up with any stock ls1

Are you sure he has 273 gears, I thought all 6spd 4th gens came with 342, even if he did a tranny swap he would still have 323 gears. Atleast the 96 and up a4 had 323 and m6 had 342...correct me if I am wrong.

Ok I found a calc on gears and he has the 3.42 I don't feel to bad now because my car pulled really good when I had the 3.42.. I'm looking for some 3.73 gears

I feel like that, I remember when my motor was stock and I had 3.42 gears it pulled good.

Ok, 94 and up 6spd cars came stock w/342, the a4's were a little dif. 94-95 had 273 and 96 and up had 323.

I though A4s (like mine, but it's a 93) could come with 3.23s as well...

I am sorry, there were two different carriers, like a 2 or 3. I think it depended on the options of the car.

Stock was a series 2 carrier with a 2.73 gear.
Optional performance package was a series 3 carrier with a 3.23 gear.
M6s came with a series 3 carrier and a 3.42 gear.
