Default What is this???

After installation of LT headers on my friends 94 Trans Am we found this and had no idea what it is... There is a hole a little bigger than maybe a quarter... Between #5 and #7. It's hanging by a wire and whatnot.

Is there a hose coming off the pipe on the right hand side of your water pump? At first glance, it looks like it might be the oil cooler hose cut in half and plugged up with something.

Not sure about the water pump, I know it hangs next to the oil filter though

Its the oil pressure sending unit heat sheild.

It goes over a sensor right about the oil filter provision.

that is the broken peice of the oil pressure sensor. I broke mine changing #7 spark plug and that is what I had in my hand. Do you have oil pressure readings?

ok so it was indeed the oil pressure sending unit and his is located on the block near the oil filter. so we bought a new one and went to put it in and no dice...the headers are in the way. is that normal? did any of you 93/94 guys have to move/remove your headers to swap a new on in
