Default Nitrous on a 388??

Ok so I'm thinkin about building a 388 and I wanna hit it with a pretty good size shot of nitrous. I was wondering how well 388's hold up to nitrous?

All depends on what parts you choose to create your '388ci'

Built well it should handle a good amount, lots of 383,385 cars are doing well over 200hp as a track car.

Yea I agree ^, built 383, 385, or 388 should handle 200-300 hit of sauce!

I was thinkin around a 300 shot. If I do end up building it, I'll probably go with a Dragonslayer crank and a custum set of JE pistons, but I'm not sure who to look to for rods

ok cool I'll definetly check those out. Now, since I'm completely new to building a motor,I'm having trouble figuring out what length rod I would need cause I'm probalby gonna use a 400 crank (3.75)

For spray you you will want to use a shorter rod so that your piston crown is thicker.

I use a compstar 5.85 rod on a dragonslayer crank.

A 3.75 crank will give you a 388 only with a 4.060 bore. Plus you have to make sure its an internally balanced one piece rear seal crank to use with an LT1. Why bore out to .060 over, ? If you are set on a 388, use a 3.800 crank with a 4.030 overbore. The power difference with a .060 vs .030 overbore is little to none, and gives you really thin cylinder walls with a .060 overbore.
