overheating prob..

overheating prob.. hey, i just picked up another 94 t/a a4 bolton car..has a mild cam.
car runs strong as hell, like a raped ape. Car starts to over heat after about 5 or 6 miles of driving. The shop that towed it said the heads might be warped? i'm REALLY doubting that though. Car doesnt smoke at all, exhaust doesnt smell sweet, and car runs great with no misses/hesitation. any ideas? i think it might be the radiator. I noticed it looked pretty dirty at the bottom of it. car has 81k miles BTW. Thanks guys

hows the t-stat? and you might have air in the cooling system? and possibly the water pump? or i have even heard of the rad cap being bad, dirty radiator, a block in the system, or even the fans not coming on. thats some things i can think of. oh and check the oil and oil cap for milky oil and or fuel in it

i was also guessing the tstat. i checked the oil and it definetly was not milky at all. i was also unaware of the bleeder screws until last night. i think im just going to have the car towed to my house so i can check things myself..i think the shop is just trying to make money off of me. big surprise 
Just an idea. My car was lowered with Eibach sportlines, and the previous owner took off the front air dam that shoves air up into the radiator (dumb idea) My car ran hot as hell (220ish) until I bought a used one and put it back on. Temps are now correct 190ish.

1. check the air rubber under the car because without it the air will never reach the radiator
2. check your Thermostat and prefer that you put Hypertech Thermostat
3. clean up your radiator or you will loose your water pump soon
4. check your cooling fan
and you will see the difference
