cam sensor help

What I need to know is if you unplug the cam sensor will the vehicle still start and run, i had gotten a lt1 engine out of a 94 caprice (pre cam sensor) and put it in last night only to realize hey i can't plug it in, it's not there. But, my understanding is that the cam sensors only job is to read misfires, so in theory i think it should start and run, just throw a check engine light on. Anybody that has any clue about this please advise.....

Crank Sensor is the one you are thinking of and yes it will but you will need to clear P0335 and P0336 in the PCM...and it won't pass emissions

my bad, I did mean crank sensor. I know it will set those two codes, but will it actually start and run?

we use the 96-97 PCM on 94-95 cars all the time. We just program those codes out.

It will run yes
