Default strange miss

Well I went down to Tampa last Friday after getting back from vacation. Car fired right up, drove all the way to macdill ave without a hitch. Then a friend says he knows where the car spot is at. Drives fine all the way out there. It was just a bunch of stupid Hondas, I leave in a wild fishtail, car runs great.

About 5 minutes from my friends apartment the car sputters, when I got on the throttle it would buck and backfire. I look, fuel pressure is still at 40 psi, oil pressure is good, A/F gauge is way green though. So spark issue. Well I determine that if I keep it less than 50% throttle or under 3k it seems to be happy, I make it back to the apartments. At one point during all this the SES light came on but went back off. Anyone use Freescan succesfully, or can recommend another program to read the codes??? I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I've never had any luck getting freescan to work.

ICM is about 1 1/2 years old, with cooling mod, GM part. Plugs and wires were done in June? MSD opti about a year and a few months old. I don't see any arching from the plug wires, it did look tonight when I looked though like I could see the constant sparking from the coil??? When I shut the car off the light disappeared from that area. Could the MSD coil casing be shot or something? Semi-new wire toast?

The night it was acting weird I decided I would limp it home. When I hit Ashely ave I took it up to 3500. Getting onto 275 North I pulled to 4k. When I was within 10 miles of my house on 41 North and figured AAA could tow me home if I went boom, I went WOT and took the car up to 135mph, didn't notice any oddities. Seems to have been running fine, well might have had one time tonight when I wondered if it was a little off.

Any ideas? I don't want something crazy to happen as I want to head out to OSW Friday.

Well I replaced my 3 year old MSD coil with a autozone piece for $20 and my #7 spark plug was loose. Running nice, strong and smooth again.

#6 wire somehow hasn't been getting cooked, which is good as I guess spark plug sleeves aren't supposed to touch the header. What a joke there isn't even enough clearance there to pull that off.
