I new somebody would know what I ment. No forced induction is as easy as some make it out to be. this is why I recommended heads and cam setup to the origional poster. For your situation supercharging is going to be more than you want to tackle!!

Painting the car will be a waste of time if your going to be parking it on a college campus.

id run nitrous, like a 125-150 shot. Just make sure you take the extra step in the install, get the right safety stuff, talk to dave and have him set you up. Im sure your engine would handle it.

I think it would really depend on what your CR is.....if you stuck closer to the factory CR then I would do heads and cam then maybe a nitrous kit.

I wanted to do a Supercharger, but like everyone said, there is a lot involved in getting a supercharger up and going. I opted for the heads and cam and then a 150 shot.

The 200-250 shot will be going in as soon as I get the forged bottom end done!

Well I chose the s/c option, before I read your post. With that budget, I would do an H/C package. I love superchargers, even more than turbos, though I know ultimately turbos are better especially as you start getting into some high HP numbers.

I personally would go S/C, but if you're going to college you're better off doing a h/c package. The LE2 package will take you to 400whp easily since you're already bolt-on.

I would do Nitrous, you can set it up very safe for about 800 bucks. I went used for my nitrous express kit, MSD digital window switch, fuel pressure safety switch, mounted between the seats. Run a 100-150 shot, and you'll be good. Then you can run it on top of you heads cam swap. Make even more power, have a stout car N/A and a true beast on the bottle.

Same here, all though to do it right, you will be over your budget a little. I also like the one guys idea about having a pro detail your paint. You would be surprised what a pro can do.

h/c package definitely! nitrous you cant use all the time. supercharger or blower takes alot of money and prep work. you will not be disappointed with a h/c package from Advanced Inductions or Lloyd Elliott

Mature guy.... real mature lol.

I voted heads and cam. Can be made very streetable, great power, minimal supporting mods and costs (unlike boost). And if your not satisfied throw on the spray. However, just going with spray would be the cheapest route, but its not always there so to speak.

I wouldn't change anything (given your student status), as less gas mileage and reliability will result.

With that said, and the paint option aside, I voted for a "conservative" head/cam package; it's cheap, reliable, relatively dependable, and comparatively fuel efficient. This is something you should consider if you're going to be a student on a limited income.

Remaining financially solvent in college and not having to accumulate enormous debt is a very mature course of action.

If he spends $1500 on his car instead of saving it for college, he will also then have to spend more on gas, more on maintenance, etc. just a thought. I wish I would have saved more for college, that's all I'm sayin.

Yeah i got you man... i was just kiddin anywayz. But savin the money is a good idea.

ALTHOUGH, most of us cant wait the shipping time for the parts we ordered for our cars... much less the time it takes to get a college education. Plus, from the looks of it, he has already got the taste of modifying his car, and WE ALL KNOW that once start you get hooked.
