i never believe someone saying their car is stock!
the weather is colder out now which will benefit the turbo car and lack of traction is not a concern for the evo!
the TA is on radial tires,if he is making any power at all he is gonna give more of the launch to the evo by spinning!
sorry bro, i just dont see him beating that evo without sticky-tires at the very least.....

I ran one mildly modded (bolt ons) and I was all motor. We both ran an 8.5 in the 1/8th that day. I sprayed next run and raped him! His friends got a picture of the finish and were laughing at him about how bad he got beat.
have you guys ever launched and evo or an sti? its not easy, so saying off the line blah blah blah, doesnt really matter because you need someone that knows wtf they are doing. they can bog really hard off the line and that happens often as you have to rev them to the moon to get them going before you can really drop it and get on it. new or inexperienced drivers generally wont do that.

I've raced them on motor and pass them in 3rd gear then put a couple cars on before the 1/4 is over. They're not impressive and hard to launch properly. Unless he REALLY knows what he's doing, but that's rare. If you know how to get off the line decent you won't have a problem

i say you can take him. launching an evo is not easy if the dude is a shitty driver he might not launch it good or bogg the car. if hes got 2 step and hes using the handbrake to launch i say he will make you look like an idiot off the line. check for boost controler and nitrous i know well over 10 people with evos and seen all the trick they use. i drove buddies evo with only exhaust and intake and from a roll car didnt seem as fast as i thought

like stated before,they are hard as hell to launch.my friend has a wrx and we went to a track dayfor his club, and 9 times out of ten,they could NOT luanch!they all bogged horribly.they drive the cars everyday,some even had straight drag evos and wrx's and they bogged.its hard as hell without buring the clutch up...why you think they replace clutches constantly?.i say,if he boggs you might have a chance,if he gets a launch on you,your toast.better get some DR's!just my $.02

It's hard to tell...could go either way all things considered. One thing's for sure - if I had ~$30k to spend I sure would have got a lot more bang for my buck. I think it's sad those idiots spend 5 times as much as me for having similar performance.

You must not have good reading comprehension - I posted all motor times when we ran 1st - both 8.5x. I posted about the nitrous as an example of what the advantage nitrous can do for 2 cars that are a basically neck and neck run.

from my previous races (raced 3 evos) I would say all three of them had the faster car but I beat 2 of them. why? they didn't know how to drive there car. I launched on an evo and I was sideways through 1st and into 2nd. my friend had a wrx and my dad has an S4, AWD cars are hard to launch period so i'd say if he's a good driver he will take you if not then you got him. race him. who cares if you lose it will just motivate you to put some more power in your car right? after all thats why I really spent the money on my motor

No its that white one on base and I did race him he must not be a very good driver from a 30 roll I beat him by 2 1/2 - 3 lengths. But my friends s r t 4 (why do they sencer that?) smoked that silver one downtown on llano.
