It's 180 or 185 STOCK. I'm sorry for all you people who were misinformed. Most places sell 182/185 stock, some places show 180 stock. It is NOT 195F on the LT1, go do some researched first.

its not a matter of heating up for combustion, the idea with running these motors hotter, and getting them up to temp faster is mostly for emissions. sure from the factory the engine specs were assembled for the temp, but for efficiency... the heat brings it down. i run a 160 Thermostat, but my car is tuned to not go into closed loop... it was compensated for in the tune. but the only thing i could see is the heat being a bit warmer with 180 tstat

ive been running my 160* so far. i have noticed taking an extra few minutes of time to warm it up makes it seem to run better in the cold. if its not real warm when i get out on the road it seems to take forever to warm up
