Ive been reading all these LS1 lid coversion threads, Im doing the conversion
also. Ive been able to find several folks parting out LS1s on here and locally on craigslist...and I found a complete setup box, lid, radiator cover etc. Looks like its going to cost me about 70$ to the door for all the LS1 stuff...will prolly need some more parts but I'll see once it gets here.

However, if I use the stock LS1 radiator cover piece I dont think I will be able to keep my stock hood on...Merv was able to keep his stock hood cause of his fab work on that piece. Ive got a cowl hood so I'll prolly have to slap it on...its just not the same color as the car right now...ugh!

Sacrifices we make for performance!

Hope that helps!

With my Ultra Z hood, I wonder if it would just bolt up under the hood and work as a RamAir?

Anyone use the LS1 list with the Ultra Z hood?

I'd like to know the same thing.

Any gains in going to a LS1 lid over the 96-97 WS6 style airbox?

Just look at the design, I think the LS1 lids and LT1 ramair would be about the same. This would especially be true since ram air isn't rammg much air till what like 160+mph? hah But there basically the same thing but flipped upside down.
