Take it to ACE in North Richland Hills... I just had mine rebuilt last month by them (got the stage-II package) and I couldn't be more happy. Gilbert (the owner) is a member here and will put a package together to fit your needs. They are also a sponsor here, so just click on their banner on the right side of the page. I'll even take you for a ride if you want so you can see first hand that they do quality work.

Their stage-I runs for $1435, but talk to Gilbert, they might be runnung a special.

All depends on what you want done I guess. Just a stock rebuild I'd est $900~ My 700R4 I had done (but got a little deal on) was around $900 but had more clutch packs and corvette servo with some other work. Chirped second every time and once in awhile 3rd. (That was my TPI car, not my 93, wish I still had it for my 93!!)

I think that is basically what "Stage 1" is...

I mean, there is JUST having a shift kit done to a rebuild, but most smart people (not implying you're not) add a few more clutch discs to the clutch packs to insure grip from the harder shift.

I would say just get the Stage 1, even if it is a bit outside your budget atm. You'll be happier in the long run, since you'll be able to do more motor upgrades w/o having to worry about re-grenading your trans from having more power and hard shifts on basically stock trans.

Whatever you do don't go to Performance Transmission in Kennedale... their "rebuild" (if you could call it that) didn't last 8 months .

Gilbert showed me the USED & RUSTED parts they put in the tranny

You would get more results and better answers if you posted this in the auto trans section instead of the lt1 section. Look into FLT there is a thread in the auto trans section with a bunch of pics of their work. I dont think anyone on here has a better reputation then they do.

Hello Tuff... saw your post in the Auto Trans sectiona dn stumbled into this thread just after that!

I am curious.... If you have not obtained aprofessional opinion yet and getting the car repaired is a priority... then how can you be "wasting" money?

If you are looking for a very high quality transmission repair. We are the place you should see.

If you are looking for a patch job to get you down the road, we are not the place to see.

If you want a professional opinion and are looking to not have to pay for that. Then come see me. We offer that service to each customer we see. Always have.

Call me Wednesday.

And thanks for the kind words Ryan. I am very pleased that we were able to meet your expectations.

Happy Holidays everybody!
