Vacuum water out of block??
Vacuum water out of block?? is it possible to use a shop vac to vacuum out the remaining water in the shop through the upper or lower radiator hose without causing any internal damage?? i have the radiator and the heater core out of the car right now and i had them cleaned and i dont want the crud that is still in the block contaminate the radiator or heater core. i really dont want to pull the drain plug or the knock sensor because i have heard that it can be a real pain in the ***. I dont want to have to spend hours trying the remove the knock sensor because it snapped inside the block.
I used the block drain plug, when i was installing my LT's I broke the temp gauge that shows the temp inside the car, the one on the DS head. I took out the block drain plug b/c if you would move that sensor engine coolant would come spilling out and I did not want a mess. It was CAKE and it took little to no time. There is a couple inches of water below the water pump holes in the block, just vacuuming on a coolant hose will be pointless.
I would suggest flushing, as it will actually rinse out the block rather than just take out the dirty coolant.
