LT1 motor difference
iron heads that flow MORE than your stock heads, slightly lower compression due to big chamber in heads, smaller camshaft, 2 knock sensors, vented opti.
They were 260hp BUT that was with grandpa quiet exhaust and intake as well as 87 octane tuning and made slightly more peak torque and did so a few hundred rpms lower.
In bolton form they make similar power to the f-body motors, biggest limiter on a completely stock one is the springs, they can float as early as 4800rpms, so fresh springs make a big difference.
The shortblocks are identical which I assume is what you are most after. Intake manifolds are the same too.
Just be aware the base engine in the Caprice sedans only was a 4.3L version of the LT1 called the L99, VIN code "W" and 4300 on the block behind the drivers head where an LT1 says 5700.
