Default OTVC with MSD?

I have LT's and all that stuff, my question is I am thinking about routing my wires OTVC or on the side, and I have MSD 8.5I have a good guess that they will work, I would just need bigger looms. But what do you guys think? I just wanna double check, I have heard someone saying to do OTVC on the top or on the side with MSD 8.5 wires was a little PITA. To me it does not seem that hard, but what do you guys think?

You will need to buy a bulk roll of MSD wire. Then cut and crimp your own wires. The MSD's that are engine specific for the LT1 will not work in OTVC setup.

not that hard. just buy the center mount or side mount looms for 8.5 wires, and a 25' roll of wire, and your 90*/180* opti boots/terminals.

I bought an LT1 Specific Set of Plug wires -- just make sure that they are non terminating so that you can cut them to fit how you would like.

With a little bit of patience and some zip ties, you can route them safely OTVC.

Here is how I ran mine:

The Driver's side I ran the first two underneath, because it is easiest and farthest from the primaries. You don't have to do it this way, but I was going more for function than aesthetics.

The passenger side I ran up tight behind the accessory bracket and they all came out right at the intake manifold/alternator bracket area. I used quite a few zipties to keep this where I wanted them and to keep them from moving.

The taylor high-temp heat shields are great, and have done an awesome job keeping my wires protected. I have been running them for almost two years now without an issue.

Does everyone have trouble using the stock routing? I'm almost done with my LT install and my plug wires seem to clear pretty well, a good bit of distance...

Personaly J z28 I would run nothing but MSD, they have worked great so far, and I would stand behinde this product again, if I had to buy them. Ya they are not the cheaprest wires our there, but you get what you pay for. When i did my opti and plug and wires and went with NGK, and MSD, and I have been fine ever since. This is persoanlly what I would do.

The only thing that I do not like about MSD wires is they do not like the stock looms, other than that I have only heard good things about them

I run the Taylor Spiro Pros on with my OTVC set up and they've been great for over 3 years...Whichever you choose just take your time, get a good crimper and you'll be fine...
