Default Replacing a cracked dash?

Well my interior of the SS is PERFECT! ( evon though its cloth ) however tehre is a crack running from the vent to the edge of the dash headed towards the windscreen. HOw much would a replacement cost and how laboris is this to replace? The crack doesnt bother me much because my 96 Z had a crack in the dash too, but since this is an SS i take a lil more pride in the car ya know? ( NO OFFENSE TO THE Z28 OWNERS!!!!! )

My dash was around 175 brand new from an ebay reseller, and I installed it myself in literally like 5 minutes.

Keep the dealer out of it - they want over 200 for the dash and who knows what rediculous price to put it on. From the factory, the top dash pad just velcros/clips into place.

If you are talking about the peice of dash that contains the defroster vent, it should only take about 5 minutes. It has a couple of fasteners on the sides that just pop out and some velcro underneath, just pry it up from the edges on the old one and you will see.

yeah it's not that hard at all, I've replaced about 3 of them, and even from the dealer, they are right under 200, It helped me to take the A-pillar covers off since they sit on the corners of the pad....just watch your fingers for occasionall slicing of the skin on the pretty sharp edges, but yes it litterally "pops" out

Yes. The whole top pad including vents comes off on its own, seperate from the gauge cluster, using mostly velcro squares and clips. The only hard part is making sure not to crack the new one.

93-96 LT1 uses a different part number, then the 97-99 share a different one. I got mine from an ebay seller named thepartsladi who carries both LT1 types. They are brand new GM P/N pieces, not cheap aftermarkets.

There are diff part numbers with different prices.

The 93-96 are quite a bit more expensive then the later years, and I believe dealer price was like $240 or something rediculous like that. NIB from ebay reseller was $175+shipping, with the newer style $140+shipping from the same person.
