Default Fuel regulator?

I have the Aeromotive pt#13107 fuel press regulator installed on my 96' Imp SS lt1 along with the Holley fuel pump. The fuel pump is rated at 255lph and has a max psi output of 110. It seems that the pump is either pumping too much gas or the press regulator is not adjusting it properly, I got gas mixed with oil inside the crank casing, and my recent rebuilt valves have not seated yet. The aeromotive unit installs on the return fuel rail, and I was wondering if there is a different kind of press regulator that I can install on the feed side to slow down the rate the pump is pushing.

What do you have it adjusted to?

The Holley and all the other 255lph fuel pumps are just Walbros sold under different names so it is the second most popular pump coming in after only the stocker. The pump is not too powerful.

A new regulator may be the fix but it is not because the pump is too much, it is because the Aeromotive regulators are garbage, cars have burned to the ground because of them, I know a guy with an Impala he calls "The Flambe" because of an Aeromotive regulator.

Check the vacuum line and I bet there is fuel in it, it is the usual failure mode.

Then go get a stock regulator to put back on there.
Why did you get an adjustble anyway.

If by some chance it is not the regulator a leaking injector can cause this too.

^^^ I am leaning towards a combination of the 2. The regulator set to high making the injectors leak down.

Default reg

Most people leave the stock reg on, i heard it messes with tune when u go replacing it with a after market one. Not sure but a 255 and hot wire kit usually make a pretty solid fuel system for our cars with the stock reg. Im still learning myself
