engine running rough?

I just got my LT1 put back together after cam installation and head job. I did not replace the opti. It idles fine and seems relatively smooth when reved up but when i drove it today it begins running rough at 2000 and wont go higher than 3000rpm. My question is. Whats my problem most likely? Old opti? vacum leak? out of time(which i dont think is possible)? How will the new cam and heads affect a non tuned car? Thanks

what gear are you in when it does that? also you should definitely get a tune for the heads/cam

First, But that shouldnt matter as its a zf6. On the tune, Ive been talking to moates about what i need to start tuning myself. anyone else do this?

You are usung a 93 speed density pcm right? Those are sensitive to modification as they do not measure airflow but rather calculate it from MAP and an aftermarket cam likely had a big impact on MAP.

Chances are though that you made a mistake like out of order plug wires.
