180afr eliminator dyno numbers???
I have 96z28 and hoping to finish up the mods on it this spring. Have mac headers,CC305, 1.6 pro mags, and want some 180 eliminator afr heads.Other mods are racetronix pump, 30 svo injectors, air intake and asp underdrive.
Car is auto. Just wondering if can get to 325 or 350 rwhp with the above mods. Car is street car and not looking for absolute best power .Just good streetabilty and hopefully 425 engine hp or so min. Went with 3.42 gears and 2800 vigilante stall.
Thats why I went pretty mellow, the 2800 vig,the 3.42s. The CC305 with 1.6 promags to bump the lift a bit but still keep a decent idle and good around town driveability. Also why getting the afr 180 eliminators..the are good for torque and the heavy car needs the torque and bottom end . If it was an m6 or more track car woudl have went for a CC306 or similar, a 3200 or so stall also but the vig do stall higher than their ratings. I also have a zex wet kit and can put that on the car although it was technically an ls1 part number. As said am hoping for about 425 min or so engine hp from the afr 180s with the 305,pro mags and macs. I chose the macs for price, ground clearance and plug access.
I have not installed the headers, cam or rockers was waiting for the heads and then do it all at once. Car is heavy and we are at 1900 feet above sealevel .Car was like 3820 raceweight last time I took it out. I managed only a best of 14.3 at 96mph with a 2.0 60ft on buddies et street radials. The car was laying down bad up top. I know my plugs are fubar and was getting phantom knock. I wiped out the knock with jet laptop tuning program. But didn't go back to track after that. I will of course swap out plug, wires, install msd opti when do the heads, cam ,rockers and headers.I was hoping to run mid 12s at 110 or so with all the mods completed and maybe hit 11s on spray. Likely need a better 460 for that though and it won't be on the track anymore at that point of course.
For your modest goals the AFRs were a significant mistake even IF and I stress IF the Eliminators turn out to be better than the old stuff. Worked stock castings are capable of substantial power increases and still maintaining good drivability.
Why are you picking that cam?
You want mellow pick smaller duration on a closer to right LSA, something like the LPE 211/219 or Crane 227 will be a mellow torque monster.
Here is a BIG part of why "custom" is better than off the shelf with many cams.

When Comp puts a cam on a 114LSA they are trying to save you from yourself, and if you are picking this much duration but want ti to be stocklike mellow YOU are exactly the reason they do those things. Go smaller on the duration if you want a mild cam, do not order a wide LSA to tame a cam. Wide LSDAs can be used to make cams emissions friendly or such but usually are a mistake.
