Default oil sensor.....

recently my car has developed yet another quirk.....hopefully.Everytime i start it it throws the low oil light up and if i shut it off and restart the light will go out....just a dying sensor? or is the sending unit not priming right?

Ill assume you already checked your oil level so to me it sounds like a bad sensor. i had something similar happen to me but it was the low coolant light. It acted the same way. I replaced the sensor and no trouble since.

assuming u have proper oil levels, you could either replace the sensor and try that first or just cut the 2 wires going to the sensor and connect them together and do away with the sensor all together, that will tell the computer u have proper oil level at all times

If the sensor was ripped it would cause a check engine light right? Check the sensor as well and the wiring.

I would not recommend doing this...proper oil pressure is important and you want a way to read it. Although it is a neat trick...better reserved if you have a stand alone pressure gauge though.
