Well several of us pointed out early in the thread that they didn't flow much better than stock. Given that and the fact that the head combustion chamber is larger than stock you will lose compression ratio.

Ok i see what you are saying but the deck has been milled down some to so shouldnt that raise the compression back up? They milled it down pretty far, bc i was worried that they milled it to much that i was going to have to much compression. But The head shop in town said that it would raise some but i would be ok????

Yes, don't listen to people who have a pretty good idea what they're doing with LT1's.

Stop looking for what you want to hear, and face reality.

Do you have any idea how many clueless people there are out there that see a "pretty/shiny" port and think.. MAN THOSE ARE NICE HEADS...

I too would dump the heads. You're better off finding another sucker to take them off your hands for $100 and putting some fresh hardware in your original stock heads. It WILL make more power with ANY cam all over the chart than these 63CC heads, milled or not.

My cc503 has tons of grunt on the low end. Looks like you already have 3.73's in there so you're all set.

Stick a 3200 stall in there and you'll have a mean machine like I used to when cam only.

Just put some fresh valve seals, springs, retainers, locks and you'll be fine.

You could and should use the valves and springs etc that are on those heads and have them put onto yours.
And yes the 503 will still work.

i went to the local speed shop and talked to them they said that they can get me a cam kit with cam, springs, lifters, timing chain, retainers, seals and locks. For about $700. Is that all i need, other than the rr and rush rods?

You have no idea what springs are on those heads, so how would you know if they work on the cam you choose?

What exactly are they offering for $700... aside from just a "kit".. alot of speed shops don't know their *** from a hole in the wall when putting stuff together.

The only thing that i am going off of was spring pressure if they would work. But i have decided to just do a whole cam kit. The kit that i was talking to the guy, it is a kit they offer from comp cams it comes with cam, lifters, springs, timing chain, retainers, and seals. For a little under 700 and then i would have to buy rr and push rods. So is this what i should do??

IDK what to tell ya anymore lol. I mean they are trying to sell you something and obviously they want to make money and have already led you down the wrong path on my opinion.

I have never heard of a kit from Comp. Besides that you can put together your own kit and install everything yourself provided you have the necessary tools.

If you go with the 918 you have to have your seats machined down for the install height of 1.8. PAC Racing has the same spring and are the original supplier of the 918 and they claim their's drop right in, I do not know that from experience just seen them post that here. You can get the hardware from them as well.

What are your goals for the car? Budget? There are several options you could go with that can provide you with professional stock ported head and matching cam to give you real nice power and driveability and all you have to do is pay them and bolt it all on when you receive it. No guess work and no second guessing the setup.

.

You can get + .050" locks instead of machining.

I got it i am in the process of talking to him, Its a little exspensive but i think it will turn out better. Bc i dont know much about heads and what to buy and what to do to them. But its going to be like $1500 after i get the heads done and get the rest of the valvetrain i need. So i am debating it right now.
