fuel pressure regulator help

fuel pressure regulator help im installing a new FPR, and when i took the fuel line off i forgot the orientation of the line retainer clip. i cant get the clip aligned or down far enough to get it to snap back on the line/regulator lip. also, i dont know if there is supposed to be an O ring on the fuel line where it slides in. there seems to be a built in one in the regulator.

ok my dad got it on. he needed to press VERY hard to get it to snap on.
i didnt put an O ring on that return line because the regulator felt like it has a built in one.
