Default Different LT1s??

I am in the process of putting together a track car! I am getting a V6 camaro and pulling the 6 out and putting a rebuilt 383! My question is, is there any difference in the LT1s that came in the camaros and the ones that came in the standard impalas? I know it doesnt really matter b/c i'm basically only going to need the block and heads and everything else is getting changed! Such as the cam and intake manifold and all the internals, but just curious if the cams were milder or anything like that in these cars??
Thanks

caprice usually = 4.3L lt1 (baby lt1)
impala = 5.7 w/ iron heads
Fbody=5.7 w/ aluminum heads
vette = 4bolt w/ fbody heads unless LT4 from 96(rare)

as far as i know the cams are all the same w/ some slight changes from early to later years for various reasons.

Also, i'm getting this motor from a guy who has a junkyard full of impalas and did they make impalas with ls1s?? If so would i be better off trying to find one with an ls1? B/c once they are rebuilt dont they put out some where around the same power?? I know there have been so many threads lately about 383s and have been beaten to death, but i'm just trying to get a few suggestions!!
Thanks

There's no LS1 Impalas. After the LT1, the only V8 available in an Impala is in the brand new ones, which is an LS4.

Thanks! I was just wondering, b/c i'm basically getting the motor for free and i figured in that case if there was an LS1 sitting next to me i would take it first! But i was researching LT1 and LS1 builds and think i'm going to stick with the original LT1 plan! The only thing is my choice of heads!! Now that i will need to buy a set of heads idk if it is worth looking for a set of stock ones and have them machined or what i'm going to do !?!?

One thing I would suggest you do is check the back of the block and make sure it says, "5.7" and not 4.3. Make sure you get a LT1.

You need to do a little research. Try a search about those and the price factor will quickly change your mind.

Yeah get a set of good stock heads (preferrably the 374's) and send them out to AI or LE for the work and they will grind a cam to match the heads and replace the springs with performance ones.

Yea i have done some since i posted and didnt realize the actuall price range!! When someone says they are pricey thats one thing, but when i saw some of the prices just for semi used ones my jaw dropped!!!

So would getting the stock alluminum heads machined be my best option?
