Yes, if you have the optional engine, otherwise its a L05 V8 -- From Wikipedia: "In 1994 the Caprice received the new-generation GM engines, including an optional detuned version of the Corvette's LT1 350 in³ (5.7 L) engine that put out 260 hp (194 kW) and 330 ft·lbf (447 N·m) of torque."

Much of the above post is wrong.

A 5.7l 94 Caprice is an LT1, the LO5 was last offered in the Caprice in 93.

It was not detuned but rather better matched to the heavier car with highway gears, 2.56-3.08 with 27-28" tall tires means TORQUE was what it needed. It makes slightly more lowend torque at a little lower rpm than the vette/f-body motor and runs on 87 octane.

The "impala" LT1 was standard in the 94-6 wagons Roadmasters and Fleetwoods and those are all usually cheaper than "impala" engines.

The base engine in the Caprice sedan only was a 4.3L L99 that is externally the same as the LT1 and often passed off as such.

The shortblocks are for all practical purposes the same.
