Default LT1 in a 63 possible?

I WAS WONDERING IF IT IS AT ALL POSSIBLE TO DROP A 96 LT1 ENGINE IN A 63 IMPALA. A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME THAT IT COULD BE DONE WITHOUT MAJOR MODS. I HAVE A 63 SS AND I JUST GOT IT SHOT WITH SOME CHAMPANE PAINT AND WANTED TO HOOK UP A DOPE ENGINE. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME INFO?

It shouldnt be too hard. The LT1 is basically a SBC without the fuel pump up front. The only problems you may run into is accessorie mounting/pulley setups unless you use the LT1 accessories also. Not sure how the waterpump/opti on the LT1 affect old school accessorie mounting and belt alignment

march sells a set of pulleys for a serpentine belt when you are doing what you want to do. other than that you will need a pcm and wire harness. i know you can get the harness from painless wiring but i dont know how much.
