I never run fram personally. From what I have read the purolator pure one is a decent filter so I have been running those for awhile.

If you cut open a walmart filter and a Delco one they are very similar because they are both made by Champion labs. I can not say whether the media is actually the same but overall the filters are VERY much alike.

Most oil and filter "information" is based on meaningless hearsay. The oil forum se veral of us have supplied links too is one of the very few sources for actual information on these topics.

This is some exciting flaming. haha I will get the specs this week. He has done quite a few LT1's and has been in the buisness for 30+ years. These pictures must be misleading because you guys are asking a lot of things that he has done (i've heard him mention it before to me). I thought the pictures would be some what explanatory. I was wrong.

I am more into how the car looks and sounds so the specs never really intrested me. I just know its a 383 LT1. To the guy who mentioned a 150 shot, he said it was good for a 300 shot and I can safely do a 150 shot BUT! if I opt not to spray and don't do anything stupid, like forget to change the oil, he will warranty everything for as long as I have it.

At this point I have given him $3200. The LT4 intake was purchased seperately by me for $390 shipped by some place in Idaho or something. As I said, nothing is stock. Everything is ported, rocker roller something or another, I will get the specs this week so I can keep up with everyone.

Here are the Crane rockers I am talking about.

I didn't mean they actually spin round-n-round (which is why I quoted the word spin), making complete revolutions. They merely rotate an increment of a degree on its axis, disallowing the inherent sliding motion across the stem.

Thanks for the link for the Crane's - definitely a worthy consideration!

And yes, I agree about magazines being manufacturer ******. I'm a motorcyclist (my top steed is a 99 Hayabusa @202rwhp) and have given up on the US mags . . . the UK rags tell it like it is - some manufacturers dont like giving bikes to those rags for tests, knowing they might get a really bad review.

Anyway, this particular article's focus is "13 Power Bolt-ons" ... it's a good measurement to see how much HP a particular bolt on might give you. In one instance, the carb upgrade only gave a 1hp gain (hardly a sales pitch). The HP gains from the other 12 mods appear to be in line. Might be worth page turning at the news-stand.

It came out of a 1994 or 95 vette I believe back in 1996 and was put into an El Camino. The motor was removed with 30K miles on it since new. Its been more or less of a project car that is finally being completed.

Only reason it came out to be rebuilt is because I blew a head gasket when we took it out and beat on it for a few hours. We made a video I have posted on here before... I can post again when I get home.

Its a 5th gen El Camino with this LT1, 40L6E, and a 1987 GN 8.5" with 3.73's.
