The only issues I could think of, is that a 96 is an OBD2 car, and a 94 is OBD1. But, if you're getting the computer and all with the car, I don't see why it'd be a problem. Some people that know the more technical stuff would be a little more help than me though.

Electrically it's a direct swap. The '96 motor will have unused crank position sensors and a couple others. Use the OBD1 PCM.

Almost. The opti on the 94 is a non-vented piece, and the plug at the opti is different.

Things to consider though: If you're putting the 94 into the 96 car and keeping the 96 Computer, you're going to have to change timing covers, which is going to necessitate changing the camshaft and opti as the 94 stuff isn't compatible with the 96 stuff. Why? Because the 96 NEEDS the CPS to run. Thus, it needs the timing cover for the CPS to mount in to. But, the 96 timing covers opening for the opti is larger than that of the 94's timing cover.

Just be ready to open the motor up to change some stuff around and you'll be fine.

^ A 96 does not need the cps to run the engine. It's only purpose is misfire detection. If you get it tuned out it will run just fine without it.

Damn! Owned by the OBDII. I honestly didn't know that.
