Man I don't even know what we're talking about anymore. Last I recall the performance button was by the ashtray. I'd guess in the glove box would be the ASR button, but I don't know since mine doesn't have it. I know Crown Vic's are there, but most buttons in the glove box in GM cars is the trunk pop. Vette's ASR is on the dash. Been awhile since I've been in my friend's Vette so I can't say which side of the steering wheel it's on :\

My friend's 91 Jeep Cherokee (I6) had the same 'performance' switch. It was more for towing though.

It's next to the middle console cup holder, directly under the gear selectors.I think it only came on 94 & 95 Formula & Trans Am.

I am installing a "performance" button as we speak.....I call it a torque button. Is going on my steering wheel though. It hooks to a solenoid that delivers up to 350hp when you push it.

NOS I presume? Not sure if I'd consider that a "Toque Button"

Yah it has the button on the center console. Pretty funny when he first showed it to me. It made that car redline like 600 rpms higher though.

Rethinking back to a car my friend fixed, it had it too. I'd push it while he was driving just to slightly annoy him LOL

I tried the button on the street vs no button and it didnt make a difference as far as traction went obviously because it doesnt control that. What it did do is raise my shift points. I wish it would change my shift extentions lol. Shifting into 2nd 150 ft before the traps in the 1/8th is annoying as ****.

Have a look at the tables near the bottom of this page- normal mode vs. performance mode shift points and TPS%:
