Newbe question i know but i was wondering how u know what u have
all i know is when im goin 65mph im at 1800 rpm's if that helps
also car is a a4

look at your code sheet in the glove box. If you see the GU2 code on it then you have 2.73s. If you see GU5 then you have 3.23s.

2.73's or 3.23's, if you have a z28 its prolly 2.73's. Whats the sticker on your driver door say? should have a GU code somewhere.

Probably 2.73s. Easy to find out, look at your RPO sheet and grab all the G codes. GU2 is 2.73s., GU5 is 3.23s and, and GU6 is 3.42s. There's more, but those are the F-Body codes.

jack the car up, put a piece of tape on one of the back tires & another on the drive shaft. Spin the rear wheel 1 revolution & count how many times the drive shaft turns. The number of times the drive shaft turns will tell you what gears you have. If it turns about 3 1/2 times you have 3.42's, if it turns about 3 1/4 times you have 3.23's & so on.
