Me personally, I would not lower my car....I scrape enough as it is. The headers don't really scrape or anything, but the front air damn under the car does. It looks badass, but I would never actually do it.

I've got Hooker LT's and my car has eibach prokit springs, lowered a little better than an inch i think, air shocks keep the back end a littler higher, but the only clearance problems i have are from pulling into steep driveways and that's just the front air dam dragging. The collector flanges have a few small chips from the steep slope of winding and hilly roads behind my house. Don't know if this helps but i just thought i'd give my .02

Longtubes vs. Mid-length
Skinny girl vs. Fat girl

as far as lowering your car???? Ive got a vette so that doesnt help you much, BUT I just took 3 inches out of the front and 4 from the back. my chin spoiler sits 1.5 inches off ground and drags everything. Who cares, its looks crazy bad!!! No probs with my headers draggin as im pretty careful to save my chin.
