Default Curious about the stall wall issue.

What size stall does this become a problem and what's the fix? Not going to be an issue for me for a little while, but I'm just curious.

3000 +, only on the OBD1 cars, and several PCM tuners out there have the fix for it.

a tune from Ian solved it for me. I think he changed something with RPM in the constants tables.

there are quite a few adjusments that can eliminate the issue. Rare cases nothing can be done, and the issue with be always present.

I believe it is the VSS diagnostic (in the constants).

Although sometimes you also have to adjust shift points so the downshifts always occur very low.

I would guess that you would be ok....

I had this problem with my old Vig 3400. PCM4LESS fixed it no problem. I looked through my LT1edit file after i got it back at what was done to fix it and its a pretty simple adjustment.

I've never heard of this problem. I have a TCI 3500 waiting to go in when the weather is a little better but i'd like to know more about this before I get it in.

Basically if you launch the car hard at the track it hooks and throws an error code. You will continue down the track and hit the rev limiter and then shift from 1st to 3rd. Only way to fix it is through the tune....

As said in above posts its only in OBD1 cars and is most common with stalls over 3000 but doesnt happen to all of them. Kind of hit or miss.

Thanks. That's not too bad since I'm driving distance from PCM for less. I guess I'll find out when I'm launching on a back road near my house. lol

Thanks guys! That'll come in handy when it's time to choose a stall/programming.
