Does this help? http://shbox.com/1/93-94_opti.jpg

And make sure you loctite the rotor down and get the square O-ring and not the old round one.

Hey can you go into more detail about using loctite on the rotor?
Like what kind of loctite, the steps involved, etc. ?

And also about the o-ring, do you have a part number?

I posted this thread at cz28.com, but they're kinda slow these days....to busy arguing about weight and headlights on the 5th gen.

Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

loctiting the rotor...
first you take the cap off the opti and you can see the rotor and the 2 screws that hold it on, take one out put a small drop of red loctite on it and screw it back in tight...but not too tight. do the same on the other screw. then put the cap back on. but for the o-ring im preeeeeeeeeetty sure the msds all have the square o ring now.

O.. Forgot to mention that Im using an OEM Delco, not an MSD. Can I get the square o-ring at a parts store like autozone?

The Delco opti has the seal built into the housing already.

So the stocker lasted to 47K miles and it is junk but 5K miles on an MSD makes it worth what 50% more???

I'm not saying the stock opti is junk, but you are making it to sound like anything other than stock is utter crap. The stock opti is fine, but I wanted to put something a little sturdier and stronger on. Was it worth the extra $200 so far? Not a hiccup so it was definitely worth it to me. Why would I want to put another stocker on and have to replace it again and spend the same amount of money in the long run?

The failure rate of the MSD is many times that of the stocker at low milage.

It's supposed to only go in one way...BUT you can force it on and it will be wrong. You will know if it went in right. It will slide in smoothly and the back of the opti will be flat against the block.

i loved my MSD... i had it as soon as it hit the shelves... and put almost 20K miles on it... the car was still running just fine when i parked it... but when i took it apart the rotor was rubbing the cap... part of the Oring crap... and MSD sent me out a new one no questions asked... a completely brand new unit... so i was def happy with the product.. it will go on the new project..

SO did this ever get to a real world results or did it stay some ppl saying yes and some no?

I did not see any mention of the Dynaspark un reliablity, how long its been used etc.

I am going to buy one or the other because I am Fing lazy and I want to have the right one the first time so I know I will not have to replace it ever again.

MSD seems to have good support but honestly I want to know from someone at say around 10-15k, hows it doing? And on the Dynaspark its been around awhile what do you think of it?

Both my brother and best friend with 93's used dynaspark with great results. 20,000 miles for my buddy and 11,000 miles for my brother. So far so good. My 95 TA with head and cam and 150 shot of nitrous runs great with my stock opti shifting @ 6400.
