Default OptiSpark vent install on new elbow.

I have to replace my stock elbow, its starting to dry rot. When I install it does it matter where I put the vent? The elbow I am getting is a black powder coated one from CRT, new for like 55 shipped and it has the two rubber sleeves for the maf and the TB could I just poke a hole in one of the rubber sleeves (after maf or before TB...does it matter?) with a nail or something and stick it in there or does it have to be in a specific spot?

They usually come with a grommet so you can drill into the elbow, put the grommet into the hole, and then the vent into the grommet.

hey porksoda I am to order a crome/ceramic one for my LT1 can you pm somewhere I could get one that has the hole drilled/the gromment so I can just put the vent into the drilled hole with the gromment.

Alot of the companies come with everything to connect the vent including grommets. BUT they are usually not pre-drilled because of the fact that people with earlier LT1's that don't have the venting option don't need the hole. You would only have to drill a small hole anyway then the grommet just pops in.
