I need a list of components for a A4 to M6 swap.
I need a list of components for a A4 to M6 swap. I am pondering doing an M6 swap in the camaro i got. If anyone wants to do the opposite ( m6 to a4 ) i have a stage two racing transmission great console and everything if you wanted to swap. But i really would like a list of everything needed for the swap. This is what i know so far
Bell Housing
Clutch
Flywheel
T56
Hydraulics ( not sure what all that entails
Pedals
M6 Console
Some switch that doesnt allow the car to start until the clutch is engaged.
Also, do i need the entire console? or just the insert? Do i need a new PCM or does the PCM have to be editted?

Looks like you have a good list right there. After I had the swap done, I'm still running with the same PCM as when it was auto. I know I have to get all of that tuned out. Does it work fine? yes. But it's constantly throwing codes.
As far as I know you don't have to get a new pcm, just have yours reflashed for th 6 speed. You will only need the center console insert. You will also need a lower shifter boot that goes on the floor where you will cut the hole for the shifter. I will be starting mine here in the next couple of weeks if everything goes well so I'll be alot more helpful when its underway.
You will need the sensors that disable the cruise control on the clutch if you plan on keeping cruise. The brake sensor to turn on the brake lights when brakes are applied. Skip shift plug in, and wiring pigtails for the reverse lockout, VSS, and 1 more but I can't remember.
Also did you read the write up in the manual trans link? Alot of good info was posted in a link in the 3rd or 4th post
