Default LS7 Lifters in an LTx motor

Is this considered an upgrade from stock or would it be a good set for a performance app. Looking into lifters for a cam swap in my 383LTx and wondering how these perform over others like comp, etc OE replacements. Are they lighter or do they provide any distinct advantage?

I don't think the LS7 lifter are considered an upgrade but rather a good cost alternative to the stock LT1 lifters. THe "Cadillac Racing" lifter is supposedly considered and upgrade with lighter internals made for high rpm.

the ls7's are an upgrade, why do you think they are called ls7 lifters because they came out of the z06 vettes and are good to atleast 7000rpm, and only 100$.

Those lifters are now the replacement for the stock LT1 lifters. You go to a GM dealer and ask for a LT1 stock replacement, the LS7 lifter part number appears. They are a better design from what I have heard, so I guess you could consider that an upgrade.

You can find the Cadi or LS7 Lifters in any place that sells GMPP products, scoggins dickey or the like. The Ls7 lifters sure as hell beat paying Comp what ever is a set of o.e replacement lifters cost.

Understood, any GM part can be had anywhere GM parts are sold.

My question is, is there something special about the Cadillac racing lifter KY95Z28 mentioned? Does it exist, what is it, is it better or different than a LS7 lifter and what does it take to make them fit?
