LT-1 SL Mercedes
More Power Then Stock. I Think They Hold Up The Same Way Like A 10 Bolt But I Guess You Not Putting Slicks And Planning On Going 10s At The Track.
Really Low Gear Ratios Like 3.73. I Think It Maybe In The High 2s To Low 3s.
I Think As Long As You Dont Hammer This Thing At A Drag Strip You Should Be Fine.

Makes you sound stupid.
Anyways.
If you can pull it off, go for the LT-Benz. But I'd find a 6 speed....
Have some fun with it atleast!

Sorry speedyshark.
Analureano - you have a pm!

will have to get parts custom made. All the people that come to our shop perfer to leave them stock. I think it will be tough but you will have a very good car when its done. Your body style is called the 107. If you had a 129 I think things would be easier. Thats the body style. that replaced the 107. Its a better platform to modify because
they also came out with SL600 which had a V-12. The rearend in that car was much better but it wont bolt up to a 107. The suspension was also better and you also had tuners taking the V-12 from 6.0 liters to 7.4 liters. You may want to visit this site http://www.pointedthree.com. Its like LS1TECH but for mercedes. I am sure you find some people there that may have done mods to this car. I just cant say for sure if anybody on there would swap a SBC in a 107.

When I mentioned the swap. I guess you don't mess with a Benz. But I say why not have a hell of an engine to go with a hell of a car. I did think of a LSx but would rather try and keep close to weight to keep car balanced.
