Default Goin lean

When i start my car up my wideband shows that it is running way lean (16.0:1) then after it warms up for like 5 minutes it goes back to normal. But when i get on it after about 4-5 seconds it shows way lean again. it runs fine tho. what could be causing this. Could it just be that my wideband sensor is bad or maybe the fuel pump.

I would clean your MAF if you haven't done so in a while & see if it helps. From what I understand, a dirty MAF will cause a lean condition because it's reading low compare to the actual air flow. As far as the fuel pump/filter goes, a simple pressure check with a gauge should eliminate that as the cause.

Thanks, I guess I never thought about that I will give cleaning the maf a try. As for testing the fuel pressure it is fine with the engine off and at idle but I have no way of testing it under load which is when im having most of my problem.

You can get a fuel pressure gauge fairly cheap here:

or maybe from one of the sponsors on the right? --->

Best way to test under load is to run the line underneath the hood and tape it to your windshield (just don't hit the wipers! LOL).

CRC does makes a specific MAF cleaner spray... Eventhough, I've heard it's just about identical to most electrical contact cleaners.
