timing
A better way to go about it though would be to buy an aftermarket ignition like say the mallory 685(there are others too) and use it for on demand spark retard, rev limiting and window switch ALL of which you should be using with nitrous.
The factory rev limiter shuts off the fuel which would be near instant death for a stock shortblock, forged pistons will handle it better but still chance of damaging them the rods or bearings. Stock injectors??? lock closed if overpressured too high and a dry kit jacks fuel pressure to get the added fuel, if the fuel pump is stock as well I would expect major issues with it supplying the high pressure demand.
on a side note i'd recommend you get a laptop tuner for yourself as well since its a great tool to have.
how much does the 685 cost and were can i get it?
